Ps4 pro fan rest mode.

Blinking white then transitions to off. The psvr processing box stays white instead turning red too. I guess sony weren t pulling the wool over our eyes. Before my ps4 pro worked properly and only has fans hdd running in rest mode when downloading or updating something.

If i put my hand near the back i can feel heat being pumped out. I know they ll often kick in when a download starts up or something but this is permenant and still happens days after i ve switched my ps4 off. Overall the power consumption of the ps4 pro is fairly good. My place is always very cool.

Not having to exit out of games and being able to resume quickly is one of the ps4 s best features imo. Rest mode is a low power state when the ps4 can charge controllers download and install content. Your ps4 uses rest mode by default so if that s what you want you re done. Yes i have noticed my fan running in rest mode.

To turn the system on from rest mode hold down the ps button on a usb connected or previously paired controller. I always do that though. If there are no check marks set under settings power save settings set functions available in standby mode there is no need for standby mode and the system turns off completely. People saying it s normal for the fan to run to cool the system when it s hot.

I didn t think it was an issue. Since this seems not to occur on all devices it might be a weird combination of multiple factors. Over the last few days i noticed i could hear the fans running on my ps4 pro when it s in rest mode. Might have to do with the last update.

Maybe updates were downloading i didn t check. Select power options and then select turn off ps4 instead of enter rest mode that will just turn your ps4 off that one time however. Rest mode this light may appear yellow or amber to some. You have to get really close to the pro to hear the fan in rest mode or otherwise.

I live by the ocean. When compared to the power consumption of the nintendo switch it might seem like it is a little more on the high side but i guess having a mechanical disk and disc drive will cause an immediate increase.
